Google Find Hub and baggage

Share a delayed bag’s Find Hub location without replacing the PIR.

Google now lets Android users generate a time-limited web link for a compatible tracker and share it with participating airlines. The link is supporting location evidence; the airline report remains the operational record.

01

What Find Hub adds to WorldTracer

SITA announced in March 2026 that Google Find Hub Share item location had been integrated into WorldTracer. That allows participating airline recovery teams to use passenger-authorised location information inside the baggage workflow.

Integration does not make every airline, airport or handler automatically compatible. Google and Android both say availability varies by airline participation, airport, region and rollout phase.

02

Create the link only after the bag is missing

Google says the option appears when the compatible tracker is not nearby. The owner generates a secure URL from the Android device connected to the tag. Anyone using the link must sign in with a Google Account, and the link can expose the item’s latest location and contact details while active.

03

A map point is a clue, not a recovery instruction

  • Do not travel into restricted airport or baggage areas.
  • Do not ask public social-media accounts to open the link.
  • Give the PIR and timestamp with the location so staff can match it to the correct case.
  • Keep screenshots only where useful; live status can change as network devices detect the tag.

04

Keep the claim separate

Tracker sharing does not submit the written expense, loss or damage claim. Keep the PIR, bag tag, receipts and delivery time, then use the airline’s separate claim process within the applicable deadline.

Common questions

What passengers ask next.

Can Google Find Hub replace a PIR?

No. It provides passenger-controlled location information. The PIR or airline file remains the tracing record, and the reimbursement claim may be a separate submission.

Does every airline accept a Find Hub link?

No. Google names participating airlines, but availability can vary by airport, region and rollout. Check the airline's current baggage form before sending a link.

How long does a Find Hub sharing link last?

Google says it expires automatically after seven days. The owner can stop sharing sooner, and sharing stops when the item is reunited with the owner.
