01
Located does not always mean ready to collect
The bag may be at another airport, in a tracing room or awaiting an onward flight. Staff may need to verify its tag or description before movement.
A personal tracker showing the same location can support the conversation, but the airline controls custody and release.
02
Check the report details before escalating
- Verify the delivery address for the next part of the trip.
- Ask whether the status provides a forwarding flight or expected station.
- Wait for collection confirmation before going to an airport.
- Photograph the bag and note delivery time and condition when it arrives.
03
Close the loop after return
- Inspect the suitcase promptly for new damage or missing contents.
- Record the actual delivery date and time.
- Submit necessary delay expenses through the airline's claim route.
- Keep the PIR, delivery record and claim confirmation together.
04
Tracking and claiming remain separate
Keep the PIR, bag-tag receipt, boarding pass, status history and itemised essential-purchase receipts. A WorldTracer or airline status update does not submit a reimbursement claim.
BagBack is independent and cannot see, amend or accelerate any airline, handler or WorldTracer record.
