01
An error message is not a baggage status
A portal error only says that the details were not accepted by that page. The report may use another passenger portal, another baggage system or a spelling recorded differently by the desk.
Do not enter random references or share screenshots containing the file reference and surname in public.
02
Check the report details before escalating
- Compare O with 0 and I with 1.
- Check whether the report is for the passenger whose surname you entered.
- Use the link in the PIR, email or airline app where possible.
- Keep the baggage-tag number available for airline support, but do not use it as the file reference unless requested.
03
Ask the file owner to confirm the record
- Use the airline contact shown on the PIR or official baggage page.
- Give the flight date, route, bag-tag number and report reference privately.
- Ask which passenger portal applies and whether the surname or reference needs correction.
- Keep claim receipts and deadlines running while access is fixed.
04
Tracking and claiming remain separate
Keep the PIR, bag-tag receipt, boarding pass, status history and itemised essential-purchase receipts. A WorldTracer or airline status update does not submit a reimbursement claim.
BagBack is independent and cannot see, amend or accelerate any airline, handler or WorldTracer record.
