01

Report the bag and save the Emirates PIR

Emirates lets passengers check a delayed or damaged baggage case with the PIR reference and surname.

Its page explains the separate reimbursement route for reasonable essentials and the baggage inventory form for longer delays.

The airline operating the final flight normally handles the baggage case.

Before leaving the report, check the operating flights, every affected bag-tag number, the suitcase description, passenger surname, phone number and delivery address. Save the PIR or file reference privately.

02

Track through the official airline service

Use the tracking or manage-report link supplied by Emirates or its authorised handler. Passenger portals commonly ask for the PIR or file reference and the surname recorded on the report. A bag-tag number or booking code is a different identifier.

Some airline portals are powered by WorldTracer and others use different services. There is no universal passenger login that safely replaces the airline-specific route. BagBack cannot access the record.

03

Keep the tracing file accurate

  • Correct a changed hotel, home address, phone number or email through the approved channel.
  • Use a precise bag type, colour, brand, size and distinctive marks.
  • Complete a detailed contents list only when the airline requests it for deeper matching.
  • Share a personal-tracker location only through a channel the airline accepts.

04

Make the separate Emirates baggage claim

  • For delay: necessary purchases, the reason for each and itemised receipts.
  • For loss: suitcase and contents listed separately with age and current value.
  • For damage: whole-bag and close-up photographs plus a repair assessment.
  • For every claim: PIR, bag tag, boarding pass and the passenger’s contact details.

05

Check whether this airline accepts a tracker link

AirTag / Find My status: Not publicly confirmed. Google Find Hub status: Not publicly confirmed. Included because BagBack readers commonly use this airline. No acceptance claim is made without a current public source.

A location link is supporting evidence, not a PIR, baggage claim or permission to enter a restricted area. Send it only through the current route the airline or handler identifies.

06

Check the current airline process and deadline

Airline portals, allowances and internal deadlines can change. Check Emirates’s current baggage instructions before spending money or submitting documents, and follow the process shown for your route and date of travel. BagBack found this airline listed at 8 UK airports, including Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heathrow.

Common questions

What passengers ask next.

Does a Emirates baggage report also make a compensation claim?

Do not assume so. The baggage report creates the tracing or damage record. The airline may require a separate written claim with receipts, values and supporting evidence.

What should I keep after reporting the bag?

Keep the PIR or file reference, bag-tag receipt, boarding pass, photographs, itemised purchase receipts and a copy of every form or message you submit.

Which deadline applies?

Check the airline’s current process immediately. Where the Montreal Convention applies, damage complaints are generally due within seven days of receiving the bag and delay complaints within 21 days of its return, but initial airline reporting windows may be shorter.
