01

Create the Jet2 baggage report and save the PIR

Report the missing bag to a Jet2 Customer Helper or through the official delayed-baggage service linked by Jet2. The resulting PIR or file reference is the key to managing the tracing record.

Check the passenger surname, route, bag-tag number, delivery address and suitcase description. Keep the PIR, baggage receipt and boarding pass together.

02

Use the official Jet2 tracking service

Jet2 links delayed-baggage passengers to its MyBag service for reporting and tracking. Use the exact file reference and surname from the report and return through Jet2's official baggage page if you are unsure which portal applies.

BagBack cannot access MyBag, WorldTracer or Jet2 systems and cannot confirm a bag's location or status.

03

Keep the tracing file accurate and useful

  • Update a changed hotel or delivery address through the approved service.
  • Correct the bag colour, type, brand or distinctive features if necessary.
  • Quote the PIR exactly in every contact with Jet2 or its handler.
  • Share personal-tracker information only through a channel Jet2 accepts.

04

Send the separate Jet2 baggage claim

Jet2 states that the PIR is not itself a claim. Its current guidance asks delayed or lost baggage claims to be made in writing with a copy of the PIR and receipts. For damage, include the PIR, photographs and supporting receipts requested by the airline.

Jet2 publishes its own deadlines on the baggage FAQ. Check the current page immediately and keep proof of submission rather than relying only on a conversation at the airport.

05

Contact Jet2 through the report or official help page

Start with the contact details given on the PIR and the official baggage FAQ. Jet2 currently publishes +44 (0) 113 231 4055 and airport-specific baggage email addresses, including a Liverpool address, on that page; verify the details there before using them.

If the bag is returned, record the delivery date and condition. If Jet2 informs you that it is irretrievably lost, move to an itemised lost-bag claim and include evidence of age and value.

Common questions

What passengers ask next.

How do I use the Jet2 lost baggage tracker?

Open the official delayed-baggage service linked by Jet2 and use the PIR or file reference issued when the bag was reported. BagBack cannot view the file.

Is a Jet2 PIR the same as a baggage claim?

No. Jet2 states that a PIR on its own is not a claim. Send the separate written claim with a copy of the PIR, receipts and any other requested evidence.

How do I contact Jet2 about baggage?

Use the contact details in the PIR and Jet2's official baggage FAQ or online contact form. Jet2 currently also publishes +44 (0) 113 231 4055 for baggage help; check the official page before calling.

Does a Jet2.com baggage report also make a compensation claim?

Do not assume so. The baggage report creates the tracing or damage record. The airline may require a separate written claim with receipts, values and supporting evidence.

What should I keep after reporting the bag?

Keep the PIR or file reference, bag-tag receipt, boarding pass, photographs, itemised purchase receipts and a copy of every form or message you submit.

Which deadline applies?

Check the airline’s current process immediately. Where the Montreal Convention applies, damage complaints are generally due within seven days of receiving the bag and delay complaints within 21 days of its return, but initial airline reporting windows may be shorter.
